Sutton started school today at First Presbyterian. We were the last church to start so I was ready! He was really excited about taking his picture this morning with his sign, and wanted to carry his backpack all by himself. He has several of the same kids in his class so it was fun to see how they've grown so much.
It has been two weeks now since Mason has been at Hillander and he has gotten a great report all four days….to some parents this may not mean much, but last year was a rough one and I never looked forward to picking him up and getting his report…so this is a total change! His teacher puts him in my car every afternoon saying how sweet, smart and well behaved he is. I think I'm still in shock. He is excited about going to school each morning and the second he gets into my car, he is digging thru his bag to get his clipboard out with everything he did that day. He is learning, maturing, and just really enjoying his days. It makes me so thrilled to know that he is thriving.
This past weekend we ended up going to the ranch on Thursday night because Ryon called exhausted and ready to get out of town. He sold 15 machines last month, and has just been mentally worn out so we headed out of town early! Thursday night we enjoyed a beautiful sunset in the ranger with the boys and a lightening show after the boys were asleep. Around midnight a huge storm came in with the most lightening I've ever experienced and we got a couple of inches of rain too. We get so much rain down there! It's wonderful. Friday we went into Baird and ate lunch where Ryon used to always eat while living there and walked the antique shops a bit and then headed to the lake. Saturday we spent the day on the water. It was just us and Rick and Teri and it was nice to just hang out just us. The boys were great on the water and Ryon got to "hot rod" around in the red boat too. I'm sorry if you actually read this but I have to document it….. Sutton pooped in the lake. Like legitimately pooped on purpose while Teri was holding him. It was the funniest, grossest, weirdest thing I've ever experienced but it happened. Sorry Brownwood Lake, we fed the fish, haha. And seeing Sutton's little bare bottom climb out of the water was priceless :)
We headed back to Midland Sunday so we could enjoy Monday here at home together before the week got busy again. We ended up going to our neighborhood pool Monday afternoon with Ashly and Derrick and had them over for pizza. It was great to spend some time with them as our schedules haven't matched very well lately.
Tuesday night Mason came home from school and told us that Willa wanted to sit next to him because he was so handsome. Melt my heart, Mason you have a girlfriend that is totally smitten!
Wednesday we went to CBS together and the minute Sutton sat down for lunch he started singing a Hallelujah song. God is Good.
Thursday I got to spend some time with Barrett and Meredith. (She's just a bonus!) I got to snuggle and stare at that sweet face. I'm in love. Thursday night Daddy took us to Chuck E Cheese to have a little fun before he leaves us for the weekend. The boys loved having him there as they are usually just stuck with me :)
This morning we resumed our Friday morning park ritual. However we were missing a few, as Pax and Coy have school Friday's now! Ugh, this is going to get sad in the next year I'm afraid.
