6 Year Anniversary Trip - Ruidoso New Mexico

Ryon and I always try to do something fun for our anniversary and this year was no different :) We wanted the weather to be cooler and an easy weekend trip so we headed to Ruidoso for the weekend. We left on Friday morning and shared a great lunch out on the patio in Roswell at Peppers Mexican Restaurant. Ryon worked pretty much the entire trip on his phone and once checked into our hotel was able to secure a big machine deal while our windows were open and I drank wine, ha. We stayed at The Shitzmark Chalet, it was ok. We would not really recommend it but the fact that it was right in town, pretty inexpensive and we weren't planning on spending a whole lot of time there, it was fine. It was just a bit old and kinda smelled old….but our windows opened and we got to watch the rain a few times which was nice! Friday night we headed to a new Irish Pub that was there and enjoyed drinks and dinner. We were both tired so we didn't stay up late. Saturday morning we were up at the crack of dawn of course! We enjoyed breakfast at The Lincoln County grille and kinda just drove around town for a bit. I made Ryon pay too much for a Starbucks coffee for myself and then we got our car washed…pretty exciting morning, ha. The stores opened up and we just really enjoyed the day walking and shopping. We got a few really neat things for ourselves; a large cow hide rug for the ranch, a new personalized wood sign for the ranch, a few clothes for me, some awesome swords for the boys, a beautiful piece of pottery for me!…We stopped and did a wine tasting out on the patio so we obviously bought wine too. The weather was truly perfect for us. We ended up going to Farley's for a snack and drinks that afternoon and it ended up raining pretty good, so I was glad we had already settled into shelter. That night we decided to go out to the Inn of the Mountain Gods. We had planned to have dinner out there but once we saw the restaurant we gave up our reservation because it was just a fancy dinner and we weren't really in the mood! So unlike us!! We went to the sports bar and then saw a great concert and got to dance a lot at the little club there. It was a perfect night of country music and dancing, I was in heaven. Funny thing about our trip is that we kept canceling our reservations. We had them at the Texas Club for Friday night, and decided to change them to Saturday night. Then we heard about a different place that had lots of seafood so we made reservations there. But then headed to The Inn and ended up canceling there too….so no fancy nice dinner for us this weekend, but it was just what we wanted. I feel like I get to go on nice dates with Ryon a lot, and so this trip was nice to just be in a bar setting with no schedule and just literally do what we wanted when we wanted. Ryon had forgotten his sunglasses so he purchased some neon green ones and walked the streets in them. He was definitely getting some looks! It could not have been a better trip. So thankful to have the time away with Ryon to have some fun and do something different. While we were away the boys stayed with TK and Rick. They went to a movie with TK, rode bikes and Rick made Mason an awesome pouch for his bike to put tools in. He also but a "turbo" on his bike which Mason thinks is the coolest thing ever. (A baseball card in the spokes of the wheel that makes noise.)
