I turned the big 3-0 on Thursday! I'm going to admit, it's weird. Last weekend while at my parent's ranch my family gave me a few gifts starting my week out pretty good! Tuesday for lunch I met April Marshall and enjoyed a burger and girl talk. Then for dinner Tuesday night I thought I was just going to Abuelo's with Meredith but her and Ryon schemed a bit and had a few of my very best friends there waiting for me! Kassadie Barela, Ashly Nicholas, Kari McNally and Melanie Bennett were all there. It was so nice to get to chat and drink a margarita with my friends without all our kiddos screaming at us. Thursday night Rick and Teri had the family over for steak, baked potatoes and salad (my favorite meal) and Sandy and Bill surprised me showing up too. It was a great night. Friday we dropped the boys off at Ryon's parents so the two of us could head to our Baird property and enjoy the weekend alone! When thinking about my birthday, I told Ryon that I would love to just go to our place, ride around in the ranger, read my book in peace and hang out. I even told him that he could take a machine! Ryon bought me some new comfy cowboy boots too. (my request) I guess I'm just changing into a ranch girl :) So Friday afternoon we headed that way. We stopped at Clyde Pizza House to pick up a pizza and ate by the fire, listened to music, and just enjoyed the quiet. Saturday morning Ryon was up early and started working on the machine. He got a bunch of trees cleared where we think we may want to build a place someday. It was nice being there with him to visualize and really look with him. I feel like I'm always half listening when the boys are there with us. I sat in the ranger, read my book and drank a beer while he worked. The perfect birthday :) We also cleared a spot so we can drive the ranger to overlook the tank. It's one of the best places on our property and now we can more easily get there! We watched the sunset from up there Saturday night. It is beautiful. We cooked steaks and enjoyed a good meal together. I enjoyed being outside in the dark there! Usually we have the boys to put to bed early so I liked being able to see the stars, and there are millions! Overall, it was a great birthday filled with my favorite people.
As for my thirties, I have no idea what to expect! My twenties were full of college, first jobs, meeting Ryon, and having the boys. I did a lot! So I have no idea what God has in store for me for my thirties. The planner in me is a little nervous :)
Sounds like a heavenly birthday! You are so lucky to have grandparents that live so close that can watch the boys for you. Now that we have a little one, I am itching to move back home.
