Dear Mason,
Happy 3rd Birthday! At 3 you are all boy, fearless, hyper, smart, funny, loving and a bit stubborn. Your vocabulary and conversational skills keep me on my toes and I love being able to have adult conversations with you all day long. You ask a lot of questions but not simply the why. You want to know the true answer to everything and the who, what, when and where. You truly want to understand the world around you. You have an amazing sense of direction. You tell me which ways to turn in town and could get us anywhere we needed to go. You love your school yet you are still a bit "active" in class. Your favorite color is orange. You love your time at the house so you can dig, play outside, and build with your toys inside. You entertain yourself easily and are now including Sutton in all of your adventures. You teach Sutton everything he knows, the good and the bad :) You love your TK and Rick. And really everyone in your little world. We have deep conversations and prayer about your friends and the rest of the family. You are always up for an adventure and ready to jump in the car and go somewhere fun. Your memory amazes me. You often remember salespeople's names, trips we took a year ago, things we did, or things you talked about with people. Obviously your expertise is in equipment. You could sell a piece of iron better than your daddy probably :) You are compassionate. I don't dare cry around you because it makes you truly hurt inside. You are a lover. You want to hug and kiss us whenever you get the chance. We are working on your listening and our "control battles." You and me are cut from the same mold and so sometimes we clash. You want to do everything your way and by yourself. The other day I didn't let you crawl into the car by yourself so you simply got all the way out, and re climbed into the car. You still love your tv time when it's time to be still. Your favorite saying right now is "mommy i'm still hungry." No matter how much you have eaten. Lately you and I have been talking about "losing our brain." or forgetting it. It's pretty funny. The other day on the way to school you told me you left your brain in bed. You love the park with your friends and I'm sad it's getting colder and we can't go as much anymore. We went to the Doctor this morning and you weighed 30 pounds and were I think 36 inches high?! Whatever it was, you have grown out of all your pants in the last two months and are sporting all new clothes now :)
For your 3rd Birthday we celebrated big! We had a big construction themed party out at Aunt Mere and Uncle Justin's and daddy brought a skid steer. We invited your closest friends and had a blast. Daddy gave everyone skid steer rides and you got to run and play all night with your buddies. Since your favorite color is orange I made you orange cupcakes and icing, and had mostly orange snacks. We served pizza and salad. We gave everyone shovels and buckets and construction hats. There were bubbles and light sticks. Paxton and Maddox Bennett, Paxton and Kelsey McNally, Ty and Hanna Roby, Coy Nicholas, and the Allgoods were there. Great Granny and Grandaddy, Tk and Rick, and Brown Grandmother were also there. You got an amazingly huge truck from TK and you haven't stopped playing with it yet! While we sang Happy Birthday to you, you were SO happy and you just hugged on Sutton right next to you the entire time. The pictures are the sweetest thing ever. I love how you love Sutton. He is your best bud. It was a fun fun night and I hope you remember it forever. I love you honey. Happy 3rd Birthday!
