5 years with the man that I loved from the first minute I spent with him. I can't believe it. My heart is full. We've conquered a lot. We've trusted a lot. God has been good. The past 5 years hasn't been easy, with the boys, but we've figured it out along the way. Our relationship has adjusted to fit our new normal. He knows when I need to see him without the boys screaming next to us. He is compassionate. He is beyond hard working, yet always finds time for us. 5 years ago there was a knock on my parents back door the morning of our wedding and when we looked outside there was a bible to me from Ryon. My new name stitched into the cover with our wedding date. I'm proud to say that I've been using the bible even more frequently lately and as I do, it reminds me of our foundation that we have built.
Life with Ryon has been so fun. He works hard but he plays harder and I'm so glad to be a part of it. He's the best father I could ask for to our boys, and a great role model for them. He's always up for a weekend trip and definitely keeps us busy. For our Anniversary, we are going to dinner tonight and then to Vegas next week. Kristen Leon is getting married, so we took advantage and made it into our anniversary trip too. We have taken great anniversary trips and I'm thankful he sees the excitement in this.
Year 1: Cabo - happy we came home alive :)
Year 2: Seattle - went in the summer though because I was pregnant with Mason.
Year 3: Vegas - found out I was pregnant with Sutton about a week before we left, not quite the fun vegas trip we had thought we'd have.
Year 4: San Antonio - we stayed close because Sutton was still young and having eating issues so I was a bit nervous to be a plane ride away in case anything happened. But we loved our trip!
Year 5: Vegas - I was very sure to not be pregnant this trip :)
This morning Ryon was very excited about giving me his gift. He is so thoughtful. 5 years is a gift made out of "wood." He did a little online research and had been working on it for the past few weekends whenever I have been away. He took an old bench that we had at our house on Kensington that was falling apart, and remade it into a frame with our initials, a bit heart and our boys birthday's on it too. It's really sweet. I'm going to cherish it forever. Ryon, if you are reading this, I love you more than you'll ever know. I can't wait until the boys are old enough to leave for a week so we can go to Hawaii :)
I remember hearing about that Cabo trip...
