Yesterday, January 27, 2013 Sutton Richard was baptized at First Presbyterian Church in Midland. I don't think there is a more important day in the life of Sutton. It was a beautiful day all around. The weather was amazing. We had both boys up there with us and both behaved! Mason was great and just ate a cracker in Ryon's arms. When Pastor Schorr took Sutton in his arms he commented on his bow tie and Sutton reached up and touched his face. It was pretty cute. It was such a wonderful moment to watch Sutton being welcomed into God's family. We had lots of family there with us to help celebrate. My parents, aunt Susan, Rick and Teri, Great Granny and Grandaddy, Great Papa and Betty, Great Brown Grandmother, Aunt Mere and Uncle Justin, and Uncle Rhett. As a mother, I feel so at peace knowing my boys are in God's arms. In the end, there isn't anything else that matters in this world. After the service, we had everyone over to our house for lunch. We had a meat and cheese tray for sandwiches and I made cornbread and stew. The stew was such a hit that I didn't even get any! It was gone in an instant. It was a fun afternoon at the house with everyone laughing and talking and visiting. Sutton actually stayed up for awhile for us and I really enjoyed getting to spend some time with him! Great Grandaddy got him giggling and he then finally got comfy in Susan's arms and feel right to sleep amidst all the laughter around him. Overall it was just a feel good day. The day ended with Sutton sleeping about 5 (of course) and me, Ryon and Mason watching Funniest Home Videos by the heater outside while eating left over pizza. The perfect end to the perfect day for Sutton :)
