2013 Family Challenge

Yesterday the Pastor spoke about having "a quest" and being "foolish" with your dreams of making this world a better place. The foolishness is simply because there is SO much heartache in the world that how can we possibly even try and attempt to make it better. It's so very true. Sometimes we just think "well someone else will help" or "it's too bad, my good doing won't even make a difference" I know I am guilty of this. I am guilty of thinking, "I'm a good person, faithful, my kids are well taken care of, I do Junior League and go to church, I've done my good deed." What? Seriously, there's so much more that I, and all of us, can do to make the world smile a bit more. SO for the year 2013 Ryon and I are taking on the challenge to do some sort of "good" each month. Hopefully it will be different each month, bring us closer as a family and make someone else in the world smile. Our church participates in Family promise which houses homeless people in the area for a week. So for February, Ryon and I will be putting together small breakfast bags for the 13 homeless participants. Seriously, 13? How EASY is that to do? But what a joy it will bring to the people involved. I'm excited about this little challenge that we have taken on and the things we may get to be a part of. If you actually read this blog, I challenge you to do the same with your family....what a wonderful way to start a new year :)
