Another fun weekend in the books at Admiral Oaks :)
Ryon took a legitimate day off of work on Friday so we headed to the ranch later on Thursday arriving around 8. It was wonderful to have the extra day and night. We did our unloading routines and Ryon shredded the grass right in front of the house so it would be nice for us in the morning. Its coming in really nicely. A few dry spots but it's great! We ate Clyde Pizza House again of course, it's just too good and too easy not to do this on our first night. We took our new dock out to the tank and pushed it off the trailer. It is awesome! It holds all of us and can easily be pushed into the water and maneuvered around. It is really great. I'll like it a lot more once we have life jackets on the boys because the water is very deep pretty fast so they were making me nervous with all their walking around on it. Back at the house, Sutton put all the tracks together and played with the cars, usually this is a Mason thing so I enjoyed watching Sutton work so diligently on it. The boys danced on the couch, we moved the two machines that Ryon had delivered closer to the house and by 11 the house was quiet. Friday morning we took a ranger ride, imagine that!, but to see our new fence line! We put a new nice fence up on the south. It looks so great and the view is amazing. We are almost ready for a cow or two :) Friday was the day Ryon had to fix our road. We have had a lot of rain so there was a bad spot in the road that needed some drainage work. So the boys and I posted up on the ranger in the shade tree to watch daddy work. This just meant that a lot of chips were eaten, juice boxes drank, and pictures taken by mommy. Mason had fun playing with daddy's level, until he was told not to….sorry about that, I didn't know he could break it!? Mason figured out how to make a leash for Bradley with some new ropes he found and we took a walk to the end of the road and tormented a few bugs and found some rocks. Ryon did a great job on the road and there isn't a bump and we were able to use all the caliche back in it. That afternoon Sutton fell asleep and Ryon took Mason in the excavator to work on the tank. He was able to tear out all of the trees along the damn area. It looks amazing. Our view is so much better now of the mountains behind us. Saturday morning the boys and I again watched Ryon work on the tank. He was able to rake everything up and make it cleaner looking. We headed to Cross Plains for lunch and picked up Rick along the way. He was there working on Granddaddy's land with his new plow. He works incredibly hard for a man his age and I looked in awe as he just climbed over the fence with ease. Glad he's healthy for us. We headed back to the house and the boys swam a bit in the afternoon. Rick came by on his way home and we were able to drive him around and show him a few of the new things. He is always impressed and so supportive with ideas and suggestions and encouragement. He is a huge part of this place and we are so grateful he's shown such an interest in it with us. After we all shared popsicles together Granny and Granddaddy showed up to visit. They hadn't seen the house put together and hadn't driven the property in a long time. Again, their health is amazing…to have the boys' great grandparents riding around in the back of a dusty, bumpy ranger holding them, sleeping in their laps….just good true memories and something to be thankful for.
Sunday morning we loaded up to go fishing on our new dock! We all loaded up on the dock and pushed ourselves out. I was nervous and not very fun at first. Too many hooks being thrown in too many directions :) Ryon caught THREE FISH! It was super exciting. We just love knowing there are fish and you can catch them on our land! The boys had fun seeing them, once they started flipping around though Sutton didn't want anything to do with them and found my lap pretty fast. Mason swam around the dock and needless to say Bradley really needed a bath when we got home.
It was a fun trip for us. We are ready to take friends out there and I'm ready for it to get cooler so we can enjoy it a bit more. The bugs and the heat are not my favorite right now :)
