Escondido Trip with the Bennett's

This weekend we finally got to go with Melanie and Josh (and boys) to Escondido. It's a development right by Horsehoe Bay and her mom has a beautiful house down there. We left Thursday night and stopped at Pizza Hut Buffett in San Angelo. The boys ate their fare share but were obviously very quiet and always stayed in their seat :)
We arrived after dark, stayed up a bit and then hit the hay. This place makes you feel like you are in Italy. The house is fancy, with way too much technology operating the coffee machine, light switches and don't even get me started on the tv's! But the rock work and the details are just gorgeous. There is a small pool as well so the boys didn't waste anytime and started swimming about 9 am on Friday morning. The daddy's took the big boys golfing Friday late morning. They were simply the cutest things ever with their golf bags and were grins from ear to ear. Melanie and I had the task of taking the little boys with us to the Lake Club Pool. We had to really talk up going to the pool and being the big 2 year olds. They knew they were being left and weren't very happy about it. We set up in a cabana and had the pool pretty much to ourselves for most of the day. Sutton slept awhile after scarfing down all our french fries and once the big boys were delivered back to us Mason made lots of friends of course. He swam right up to these two pretty women and just started chatting away, telling her about his golf game of course! Sounds kinda like his daddy a few years ago to me…….
The husbands had been gone for quite a long time by now so there was a little tif between Melanie and Josh and Ryon and I got roped to it obviously so there may have been a few tears and rude comments. Needless to say the boys had said Melanie and I could go to dinner that night so away we went! Ryon fixed a feast at home for the boys (they didn't really think we were going to dinner!) and Melanie and I went up to the restaurant and had a great dinner, but most importantly just great conversation with a wonderful friend. I don't get this time enough and I loved every minute of uninterrupted conversation! Saturday morning we had breakfast and more pool time at the house and then we went to the Lake Club pool. The fountains were on and boy did Maddox love to sit on top of them. At one point, he stood over it and let it go right up his swim suit, he was laughing, and so was everyone else at the pool of course! The boys were favorites of everyone at the pool and kept us entertained. They had a snowball fight and popsicles, and went fishing for a bit with the daddy's off the dock. They swam until iterally they couldn't move anymore. We thought they were all going to fall asleep in their lunch but somehow pushed thru and swam until about 5. We made fajitas that night and put the boys to bed early and enjoyed some hot tub time. Our boys loved taking a shower in the outdoor shower outside of our room and they slept great in a pull out twin together. All four played great and all were very tired come Sunday morning. It was a relaxing weekend, if I can call staying up too late, drinking, and swimming with four boys relaxing….but it was just a fun one with great friends.
