The boys are so super fun, crazy, and loud right now. I feel like I say every stage is my favorite and it's really the truth. Every new stage has new challenges but new exciting conversations and interests as well. The boys live for each other. They do everything together and know everything about each other. Sutton still loves his "dochie's" (Dinosaurs) Mason just calls them dochie's now too and I think it's great. Mason and I often have conversations about why Sutton is mad or crying and Mason makes the funniest confused face and puts his arms out and says, "mommy I don't know why he's doing that?!" They run around in their underwear and have to have their favorite characters on their bottoms and they change about fifteen times a day…. I mean sometimes you just need to change your underwear right?! Yes, Sutton is potty trained/training. I still say training bc he is all boy in the aspect of being busy playing or eating and just letting it go….but for the most part he's great and really just messes up when I haven't remembered to take him recently or push him to get on the potty and go. He's a bit younger than Mason was when he potty trained so I'm trying not to be too hard on him. I have let him sleep in underwear a few times during naps but they usually end up with wet sheets and I haven't' even tried bed time yet. He's just not there mentally yet to get up and go by himself to the bathroom like Mason was. I'm going to give him a little more time til I tackle that one. Really I just need the energy to get up during the night to help him and to wash sheets 24/7! Sutton knows every word to his Goodnight Texas book and tonight Mason read me a book as well. It amazes me that they can remember every word on a page without actually recognizing the words on the page. I've been trying to get Mason to work on his letters and writing but he has NO interest in it. He's like, no mommy not right now. I don't want to. Every time…. He's going to be a hard homework kid I can already tell. Letters? No thanks, let's go dig and explore, and learn my own way! Sutton is the best hugger and kisser ever. He grabs your cheeks and face and just kisses you smack on the lips and will turn his cheek so you can kiss him again. They are devils when they are together. Seriously. I'm a drill sergeant. And I lose a lot. :) Together they laugh, they run, they joke, they scheme….oh it's bad for this mama. And it doesn't help that they are so darn cute.
Ok so we got all new grass in our front! And a lot in our back because there was some left over. It looks like the house we bought again! We love it. I can't even explain how wonderful it is to be proud of the outside of our house again. We are also getting a lot of new landscaping in the front flowerbeds as well. I'm just so thankful that the time was finally right to redo everything. I love this house, and so many things about it, and now we can love the outside again too.
Helped out at the summer program again today at church. I loved having the time to love on some kids and do something fun and different. It was a great day.
