Our long last week
Last week was a long one! We went to the airsho last Saturday and it seems like forever ago. Sunday the rain and cold came in and Midland about flooded out. Monday Ryon left for North Carolina. Since he is one of the top salesman in Caterpillar they picked him to be a part of some training videos. I was really proud of him that he got picked. So he was gone until Wednesday afternoon. The weather was cold and wet for the beginning of last week. Then Thursday Ryon left again for the ranch. He took John with him to work and boy did they get a lot done. Thursday morning my bible study group got to visit Fair Havens and Community Children's Clinic. We donated a bunch of items and were able to get a tour of each place. It was one of those feel good mornings for me. I love being a part of a community that has over 300 non profits. Midland is so generous and has an organization to help with whatever need there is. I was really glad to get more of an inside look and to donate needed items. So Thursday morning my heart was full and then I got to have lunch with Ryon before he left town. We hardly ever get to do lunch so it was a very nice treat. Friday morning I was supposed to volunteer at this Texas Garage Sale all morning, but I woke up with what I thought was pink eye. As the morning went on my eye was getting worse so I backed out of my commitment. An hour later it was better! So I felt bad but couldn't do much about it at that point. So we headed to St. Luke's pumpkin patch. This is where we have been visiting and their pumpkins finally came in the night before. So we went and bought pumpkins and climbed and played.
Saturday was meet daddy at the ranch day. Mason was up and in my room at 7 am ready to go. So after I got ready and we woke Sutton we were on the road pretty early. Ryon and John did such an amazing job. They cleared a huge area for our entrance on the frontage road and had about 10 burn piles going when I got there. It has gotten so much rain in that area that everything was super green. I was amazed. We used to have dirt all around our camper and now the entire area is thick green grass. All along the fence line where the dirt was turned over and cleared out is green as well. The place looked amazing. We had visitors of course. John left after lunch and Danny and Rick showed up. Mason had a great time riding the four wheeler with Danny and Rick put Sutton to sleep in the ranger. Sutton and Rick are inseparable. Ryon and Mason did some clearing around the tank and Sutton and I threw rocks in the water. I could throw rocks with my boys all day. It's so relaxing, and the weather was beautiful Saturday. I was in my happy place :) Saturday night we went to Putnam to have dinner with Aunt Kay and Uncle Wayne and Kimber and her family. It was so nice to see some family and catch up. The kids ran wild and loved seeing the cousins.
Funny story: On the way to Baird on Saturday we stopped on the access road so Mason could pee and as we are standing there a train came thru! Like super close to us. It scared both of us half to death. I am not sure I've ever been that close to a running train much less peeing on the side of the road!
Sunday Ryon stayed a little longer than me and the boys to get a few more things done. He ended up tearing down all the trees that were right around our camper and opening up that entire area.....I can't wait to go back! We had a baby shower yesterday for baby Claire Roby and were very lazy around here last night. So we've been busy but having a lot of fun.
