Mason's Swim Lessons

Mason has been in swim lessons since April. For a 2.5 year old that has been swimming for 4 months, he is seriously awesome. (But I'm not bragging, ha!) Barrett Bonds does swim lessons here in Midland and I was on the waiting list for about a year. So when she finally called I jumped at the opportunity. It was hard at first juggling school and swim, but it was worth all the back and forth. This summer it's been our only "activity" and he has really enjoyed it. He can jump in and swim by himself pretty far to safety. He can monkey crawl from one end of the pool to the other. He can "pop up" to breath if he's swimming too far. He also has been taught the basics of rescuing someone and has learned to swim with his clothes on. Yes, sweatpants, shirt, and shoes. I'm thankful that he's had the opportunity in this swim school and I am only praying that Sutton can get in soon as well. It's been an expensive thing for us to do but it has been worth every single penny. Swimming is a lifelong sport and I am just so thankful he has done so well with it.

  1. I think learning to swim early is so important. It's not just great fun and exercise, but an important survival skill for our little ones. I can't believe how awesome and comfortable he looks in the water. Good job Mason!
