Sutton's First Birthday Party

We had a fun filled night in honor of Sutton last night! Lora, Elizabeth and Vaughn headed into town on Saturday. I was so thankful they made the trip. It was really fun to have them here. Mason and Elizabeth love each other but boy do they fight! Sunday was Sutton's big day. We did a good job of getting everyone to nap before the party ~ it was a miracle! 5 o'clock came and Sutton was tired again but okay. We cooked slider burgers and had easy sides, Ryon the chef did great :) We had cookie cake for the adults and I learned my lesson on having blue icing! Everyone had blue lips, oops sorry! When it was time to sing to Sutton he loved it. He was smiling, clapping, looking at Ryon and I in awe. The pictures are really sweet. He wasn't sure of his cake at first, but then got into it. He didn't devour it but he did get messy after a little while and he figured it out. I had put a bunch of plastic balls in the little swimming pool for him so when we got messy I tried to get him in there. He is pretty particular on his water temperature so he wanted to just sit on the side and play with the balls instead of actually swim and get wet. We opened presents and he did great. He showed attention to everything and stayed awake awhile longer to socialize. It was a fun night overall. I am just always so thankful for wonderful family to help celebrate my boys. We filled a time capsule for him and everyone wrote sweet words to Sutton. I can not believe I have a 1 and 2 year old now! Yikes. The party was a success! Now Sutton will just need to learn to walk here soon, which I think is any day now :)
