Rick's 60th Birthday

Well the day after I wrote my last post, Mason started being nice again :) He kissed me all day and said I love you Mommy throughout the day. Thank goodness. This mommy needed some love! We went to the Lake this weekend to celebrate Rick's 60th Birthday. It was cold but it ended up to be a great weekend anyway. Sutton did great and the boys were good sleepers at night. Ryon took Mason with him to the golf course Saturday night morning. This was the first time he's ever taken him so we weren't sure how long he'd last, especially since it was so cold. But he stayed the entire time and did really great. He ran, he climbed, he played in the sand, he helped find balls, he loved it the boys said. And I was so thankful for the morning off. Sutton ended up taking a morning nap so I actually was kid free for a bit and got to relax with Mere and Teri. I needed it very badly. Saturday night we threw Rick a fiesta party. We cooked our hearts out and ate and had a great time. It was a wonderful weekend. It's getting easier to travel with them. It's never that bad when we are with Ryon's family though because they help out so much. They can tell when Mason needs something else to do or someone else to entertain him and they are always quick to help out! I'm so thankful that they know our boys well enough to know what they need and when. We started on our fireplace this past weekend as well. It looks amazing. It looks like a new house. It looks like a completely different room. I can't even describe the feeling. Even though we haven't lived in this house but little over a year, our old house had the same painted white brick, with gold fireplace cover and ugly mantle. UGH. four years of looking at that stuff. Well not anymore! I couldn't be more happy with the way it turned out. Ryon's mantle looks amazing and the rock adds so much to the room. It wasn't even very expensive to do and so we are wishing we had done it a year ago when we moved in. It's not completely finished though so I'm hoping they can finish it soon before we have everyone at our house for Mason's Birthday in three weeks!
