Sutton is 3

Sutton, You are THREE! We've been looking forward to this day for a long time. Sutton has wanted his birthday party and to turn 3 for quite awhile! What a fun celebration we had. It was full of ninja's, swords, tattoos, cake, a huge jumper and his best friends. On the day of the party he slept in until after 9 and came out ready for the jumper. He immediately ran around and went down the slide in his undies. He was thrilled when his best friend Hutton and William showed up from school. I think he loved having them over since he only sees them at school. He has created such sweet friendships this year at school and I'm glad they came to celebrate his day. We had a full house of great friends and family. Lora and Susan brought Elizabeth up and the boys loved having her here. At one point during the party all the kids were digging on the side of the house. We were so happy to have bought a huge jumper only to have the biggest attraction be our construction site, haha. The kids really did spread out in the yard and enjoyed everything. The parents stuck around too and we all just had a good afternoon. We gave Sutton a big boy bike for his birthday. He had really been wanting one and was so excited when we gave it to him. His little smirk was priceless. The wheels are bit tight still but he'll get the hang of it in no time. We went to the park yesterday and he practiced a bit. It's the same size as Mason's, just with training wheels, so he feels like big brother now. We also gave him a microphone to sing into. He is our singer and he loves it! He's constantly singing his bible songs and songs from school so now he can really perform.
At 3 Sutton is "stubborn with a side of sweet." He still sucks his thumb when he's tired and his gimmie is around. Not real sure how we are going to ever get rid of that thing. He is doing much better at not peeing in the bed; we've been doing a reward jar and I think it's really helping. He loves everything about guns, swords, hunting, fighting, airplanes, rocket ships, dinosaurs, singing, and eating snacks. He could live on fruit snacks if I'd let him. Mimi gave him a box for his birthday and I'm so thankful because that's actually a useful gift!! He's also a great little athlete. He can hit a golf ball across the yard, a baseball over the fence and loves the idea of playing football too. He always has a knot on his head from running into stuff, falling, or just being clumsy. He's a fast little runner too. I can't wait to watch him excel in sports because he already has passion for them. He just wants to be with daddy and mason is obviously his best friend. He still doesn't like saying good bye to people he loves. He can "shoot pigs" all day long. His imagination is very fun. He'll throw a fit and hit and scream but be over it in about 5 minutes and then give into what I want him to do. He's still kinda lazy in taking care of himself. He'll act like his legs don't work when asked to help clean or get dressed by himself. He'll just roll around on the floor and act like he can't get up. He'll say "his arms are starving!" if he doesn't want to do something we ask him to do. He's super smart. The songs he memorizes within days is amazing. He can still fall asleep anywhere if he's tired enough. Get him comfy and he's out like a light. His green eyes get him what he wants but man can he be a mean little guy. He still won't kiss me if he doesn't want to. Sutton, you are our favorite little 3 year old! The last day of MDO was today so we have the summer to enjoy before you are big brother and before Mason heads to school full time. Love you buddy.
