I'm behind on my blogging :( So here goes a few recaps. LIFE IS GREAT.
Early in October we had the Bernardo's out to the ranch. It was fun to see them and show them around. The boys had fun finding rocks, climbing on things they probably shouldn't, eating chips, popsicles on top of the ranger, and watching the stars on the porch.
T Ball Season finished up! We had such a great time playing t ball this season. It was only fun bc we played with such great friends. I was so happy that Ryon got to coach with Travis and Josh and it was just a really fun time for everyone. I think the coaches and the players were glad to see the season end as attitudes of 4-5 year olds can get a little interesting after a few weeks :) Mason is obsessed with his baseball medal and just can't wait to play again. Hope we can play with friends again.
Fiddlestick Farms: We had a weekend here so we headed out to FF with the boys. We had never been so we had a great time running around. We even ate at a bbq place for lunch that day, came home and played outside in the yard for the rest of the day. Sunday we all went to Sunday school then headed to Odessa. We ate lunch at Red Lobster and the boys were actually good again!! It's such a miracle. We went to Ryon's CAT yard to look at a machine he's thinking about buying. That's for another post….but I got some cute pics of the boys around the machines, although it is impossible to get both of them still and actually looking at me!
That next Thursday night we left for Baird late after Ryon got off of work. He had a crazy week and just needed to get away a day early. Friday during the day Ryon worked on the porch and finished up the roof! I entertained the boys while he worked, which is always fun….wink, wink. We went to the tank to throw rocks and there's just something about this that gets me all emotional every time. It's so calming. It's so beautiful. I just bask in God's beauty of not only my surroundings but also the boys. Why was I picked to be their mommy? Why am I lucky enough to be with them every day of my life enjoying every joke, every tantrum, every fear, and every idea? The boys and I also watched the sunset down by the water that night. During the day the boys were complete messes. They climbed on the ladders, played with hammers, golfed, explored, sat and "did my cbs bible study." I have a cute pic of both of them reading my bible and have my study in their laps. We really enjoyed our day though and the work that Ryon did is simply amazing.
That Saturday we went to Fort Worth to the Burch's for the Tech/TCU Game. It was a wonderful excuse to spend the afternoon with our dallas friends. We enjoyed the day watching the game outside while the kids demolished bags of chips, juice boxes, peed in the grass, and figured out how to play with little girls, haha. We made smores that night and didn't leave til almost midnight. We were staying in a hotel that night so on the way there we stopped at mcdonald's and got food. There is something weird about ordering late night food and two kids meals…….Once in our room though we all four chowed down and slept like rocks. Love these memories. In the morning we got in our car and our car smelled SO BAD. I have no clue really what it was, but I'd put money on it that it was little boy shoes. We rode about an hour with the windows cracked and sun roof open.
We had the church trunk or treat that night. I rant the boys up there for a bit. It was 90 degrees so right when we got there Mason was red faced and hot and asked to go home! That next week we had the last week of t ball, celebrated Grandaddy Rick's 62nd Birthday with a party Wednesday night, and Ryon and I went to a dinner party with Sandy and Bill to Aldridge Gardens Thursday night.
Thursday the boys had their Halloween parties at school. Ryon went to Mason's and he was so thrilled to have his daddy there. I'm so thankful that Ryon's job is flexible enough that he can do these sorts of things and that he has the desire to go when he can. Mason woke up and decided to be Jake the Neverland pirate for school that day instead of a ninja turtle. I went to Sutton's party and he was living it up being Raphael. He loved dressing up and wearing his mask.
Friday night we went to Alli and John Moore's for trick or treating. We all loaded a trailer and headed around Green Tree. We left a little later this year though so it got dark and kinda took the fun out of it.
The boys had fun but I think next year we will do something a little more low-key.
Saturday morning we headed to Mason Texas to see my parents. The kids had a great time seeing the cows, shooting things with their new guns from papa, and riding around on a "sled" being pulled by the four wheeler.
Are you tired from just reading this?! Yes, we are worn out. LOTS of wonderful memories, family time, friend time, and moments that I don't want to forget. This week is a little more low-key though and we are thankful. Oh except that my birthday is Friday and Mason's party is Sunday…….
