On Sunday afternoon we had Mason's Birthday Party. It was a bit early this year but when I called back in August there wasn't much availability of the place, Midland problems! We had it at Bingham Gymnastics which has a huge floor space, trampolines and a rock climbing wall. Mason was SUPER particular of what he wanted this year. I had no idea a four year old would be so incredibly picky about who, what, when would make up his party! He'd been planning it for months so I'm glad it all came together like he liked. He wanted ninja turtles, planes fire and rescue and jake and the neverland pirates….so I just gave him all three! No need to choose, you are only 4 and into characters for a short time in your little sweet life :) So I just bought like one package of each theme and went with it. It actually came together pretty cute and when he saw all the stuff he was thrilled. He was like walking around the room and smiling and pointing things out; made me happy that I worked hard to get what he wanted. We had ninja masks (left over from Ty's party!), ninja tattoos which were a huge hit, pirate eye patches and lots of stickers for the kids to put on when they got there. Since we had all three themes, HEB had to work their magic on his cake, and they did fabulous!! I was so excited when I picked it up and really impressed with the work they did. Instead of gifts we asked people to bring canned goods and I'm so glad we do this. It just makes it nice for Mason to understand to give food to people that need it more than us, it makes it easier on the parents coming to the party and we don't get a ton of toys that we don't necessarily need especially since Christmas is right around the corner. We have a full wagon load to take to the Jubilee Center where Mason can help deliver and even sort on the shelves. He still got a few things from family and a few from parents that don't listen (ha) so he's been occupied this week! He had a lot of friends from school, church, our social circle come and he had a good time. I still think the kids are at this age where they don't necessarily play together but if their friend is at least in the same room they are happy! Lots of people impressed us with their rock wall climbing skills and daddy did a few flips on the trampoline for us :) Even Grandaddy Rick got on the climbing wall! He's awesome. Overall, it was a fun afternoon with family and friends with a room filled with people that love Mason. What a wonderful feeling as a parent. I can't believe we are turning FOUR! Mason honey, you have my heart. I love you.
