We have had two weekends here in Midland, which has been so nice! With living out in West Texas most of our family and friends are 5 hours away so that means we, along with everyone else in Midland, leave on the weekends all the time. The past two weekends we laid low and enjoyed our house and our town a bit. Last weekend we woke early on Saturday morning and had "donuts with dad". We are trying hard to be better about taking the boys to restaurants every now and then. This breakfast was fun. Sutton loved it and stood in the booth banging on the windows with the cars driving by while stuffing himself with donut holes. Mason enjoyed his strawberry icing donut quite well too. We were going to go play putt putt but apparently they don't open til the afternoon so we went to the park instead. Ryon doesn't get to go to the park with us since we always go when he's working so it was fun to have him there. Mason was able to show off his skills climbing on everything and daddy was a big help in climbing and watching the boys; it's easier with him around! After that we headed home and played in the back yard (big surprise!). After naps we loaded up and met Rick and Teri at the Green Tree pool. Mason has loved showing off his swimming skills and Sutton is getting great in the water too. Sunday morning I visited a small church by myself that I've always wanted to visit while the boys swam and played here at the house.
This weekend we had another weekend at home. We were supposed to go to the Ranch but Grandmother Billie is pretty sick so we all stayed at our houses instead. Friday night the Barela's came over with Kaden. We haven't gotten to spend time with them in a long time so it was great to patio sit, eat, and talk. It was a relaxing night outside. Our weather was great at the end of this week. Saturday was deemed Daddy and Mason day. They woke up and went to get hair cuts together. Then Sutton and I were surprised with an invitation to join them at Cracker Barrel and so we joined in on the fun. The boys did great at breakfast. It was actually another fun restaurant experience! Mason and Ryon headed to the CAT yard to ride around on machines. Mason was thrilled as always. Saturday night we went to the Bennett's to swim and eat brisket. The Bennett's are bad influences I've decided! haha. The red wine just flows when we are with them. We end up staying way too late and having one too many glasses of wine when we are with them. The boys play great together and we are really enjoying getting to see them more. Needless to say, today has been a lazy day at the house with swimming and playing in the back yard. Do you see a trend here? We enjoy our backyard SO much. We don't even need a living room right now :)
Ryon update: Ryon is so excited about our new ranch property. He is constantly drawing brands, and coming up with ideas on the place we will build out there.
Mason update: He's hungry! He's growing. He's actually eating and asking for more all the time. His language development surprises me each day. He has actually started to stutter a bit :( But I know it's just because his brain is going too fast for his lips. His new thing to say right now is "it's hard to say" He says this when he's trying to pronounce a word that normal 2.5 boys wouldn't dare attempt....It's pretty cute.
Sutton Update: He has started to throw fits. It's kinda funny. But just really surprising since he is named "sweet sutton." Not so sure how long that name will stick around :)
Mommy Update: Summer is going to be long....I like my two days a week to myself and the boys enjoy being with their friends too. I'm going to have to get creative to figure out my "mommy time."
