We took a little mini vacation this past weekend to Fort Worth and Dallas and had the best time. We left Thursday morning and spent the afternoon at the Fort Worth Botanical Gardens. It was really pretty and Mason had a blast running around using his energy stored up from the car ride. My goal was to get a few cute pictures of him in from the flowers. However, he's much too busy to take photos of these days. The pictures are really funny because they are all of him running from me. Sitting still was not going to happen for mommy. We stayed at the Historic Stockyard Hotel in Fort Worth that night. They had really neat old rooms right down on Main Street. We met Kandi and Ryan for bbq and got to know Ryan a bit better. Friday morning we went shopping. Ryon was such a trooper. He let me go in and out of any store I wanted and did work on his phone and kept Mason out of my hair. We also went to Bass Pro Shop which was really fun for Mason as well. Being in the city and doing the small things we did made me really wish for more in Midland to do with Mason. Just going to a simple mall he saw aqauarium's, fake alligators, trains, everything. I also bought a bathing suit...seriously. I'm having a baby in six weeks and I tried on a bathing suit!!! What a crazy person. But it was really cute and I have convinced myself that only my mid section is different right now so of course it'll fit. Sure hope so! Friday afternoon Ryon went to go get our new CAR! We were able to find one from Uncle Ricky and had worked the deal all week so it was ready for pick up when Ryon got there. We got a 2012 Z71 Tahoe. It's fabulous. And will be such a better family car for us. I was really sad to say good bye to the Four Runner, but I'm already loving the new car and we did super great on our trade in. This car is also pretty exciting for Ryon and I because it's the first car either of us has paid straight cash for. No payments ever :) It's quite an accomplishment and we are really proud of ourselves. Friday night we went to Guero's for dinner with Kristi and Daniel, sitting outside for dinner on a patio! Another one of those things I hate not having in Midland....And then Saturday was a fun bbq with all of our Dallas friends showering sweet baby #2 with Diapers. It was a fun filled day in the hot sun drinking "fake beer" (Odoul's) catching up with friends. We really enjoyed ourselves. Mason had a great time. He was wearing a white shirt and I'm pretty sure I'm just going to have to poor bleach on it to get all the stains out. He was just running around like a crazy boy barefoot, sweaty, hot, the brightest hottest little red face you've ever seen. His hair was curly by the end of the day because of all his sweat. I love that he has no fear and just wants to play play play. He had such fun with all his "aunts and uncles" too. I think throughout the day I saw him with at least every uncle at somepoint being thrown in the air and laughing. We put him in his full size bed last night. He did pretty good, but he's teething so he was moaning and groaning for awhile in the middle of the night. It' has now taken him two and a half hours to fall asleep for his nap today! He just never wants to stop playing.
We set the date for baby #2 arrival as well! May 17, 7:30 am. Unless "it" comes earlier. I had contractions all day one day last week....
Rick and Teri bought a lake house on lake Brownwood as well! So it's been an exciting week.
