Mason turned 7 months old on Saturday. It has flown by. We drove to Granite Shoals to spend time with my Dad's family. It was a great weekend of sitting in the lake, laughing with cousins and playing lots of cornhole. Everyone had a really great time. At 7 months Mason is still my mess. We are still trying to limit the amount of formula at his feedings and he is eating 2 stage 2 foods three meals a day. He would eat much more if I let him. We don't have that "I'm full" mechanism in our bodies still. I'm going to buy stage 3 this week. Mason is very detailed oriented. He will find the smallest thing to focus on, turn it around and inspect it. He actually reminds me a lot of Uncle Justin in the ways he's always trying to figure things out. Maybe I'll have an engineer on my hands. We crawl everywhere and are very fast. I can't leave the room much anymore because in the 10 seconds I'm gone, he'll be across the room usually into something he shouldn't be. He is starting to not like road trips, which will make for a long summer for us. But we have 2 trips down already. He does okay for a little while but then wants out. We have been stopping for lunch and getting him out and that seems to help a lot. He drinks from a sippy cup great now and feeds himself his bottle. Which is amazing to have my hands free! His personality is very happy and he's always trying to go somewhere else and wiggle and play. He can't sit still long. I feel like he is very chill and quiet around other people though when we aren't in our own house. It's funny though because people still talk about how active and "loud" he is....but to Ryon and I he is not being himself at all! I need to put a camera up in my own home I guess. He is still blowing his bubbles. In fact, he did it all weekend and never stopped. It was pretty funny. This weekend we spent most of Saturday at the lake and when Mason got tired we just made him a pallet on the sand to see if he'd sleep. He was way too interested in the sand though. Can you imagine feeling sand for the first time in your hands? He is starting to get up on all fours but decides he can get somewhere faster with his scooting crawl. he still pants like a dog, it's very funny. While changing him he immediatly flips to his stomach and tries to crawl off the table. He is super happy in the mornings when I go get him. He just has this look like, yes! we get to play now!!!! I try to take him to different places and do neat things with him every day so he learns something new. We go to Petsmart to look at the animals, long walks around the neighborhood, we work at the office, he loves the supermarket and stores. We are on our 14 day of 100+ weather so we haven't gotten to go to the pool quite as much as I'd like. I've been packing too, so once we get moved I'll take him to the water much more.
For Father's Day, we made Ryon painted hand and foot prints. It turned out really cute and I framed it and everything. It will be a great present to have for years from Ryon's first Father's Day. This is moving week! Wish us luck....
