San Antonio Hill Country Hyatt Vacation

At the end of July we took a family vacation to San Antonio. We stayed at the Hyatt Regency Hill Country and it was fabulous. It was so relaxing with shade everywhere, safe spots for our kids and a wonderful environment. We cruised the river for 4 days straight and could have never left. The boys loved swimming along side us and Callahan was the best baby ever hanging out and sleeping on Ryon in the tube when he needed to nap. I am not sure how I never got a picture of Ryon with Callahan on his belly but that image pretty much sums our trip up! We didn't have much on our agenda which was a wonderful feeling. We got there Saturday after a quick, one stop, trip to San Antonio. Our boys are awesome travelers! We ate lunch at BJ's, checked in and immediately figured out the hotel. We had an amazing suite with a balcony. The boys had the living room area and Ryon and I had our own room, the only way to travel for vacation with three kids! Sunday morning the boys did the Wave Rider. It was cheaper in the morning hours so they headed down early to get a spot. Callahan and I dressed and met them soon after and the boys did awesome. Sutton looked so little on it and everyone watching was asking how old he was, they were shocked to hear that he had just turned 4! It was really fun to watch them though and they loved it. My friend Samantha joined for a bit too and I enjoyed getting to see and visit with her so very much. I sure wish I got to see her and other good friends more. The rest of the day we ate, played and simply enjoyed the resort. That night we did eat at the buffet restaurant, got smores and attempted the movie on the lawn. Monday we woke up to a fire alarm which was just awesome, haha. It was nothing but it sure did wake a whole resort up at 7 am. Monday was Sea World Day for us! We ate breakfast at McDonald's and enjoyed 7 hours at Sea World in 100 degree weather. I pretty much sweat the entire time. Ryon and the big boys did the Atlantis ride, which they were really trying to talk me into but man I hate those kinds of rides so I talked my way out of it, haha. We sat in the splash zone of Shamu, got completely soaked but had a blast after the initial shock of what "Shamu Wet" really means! Seeing your kids faces light up while seeing Shamu is just priceless, I have loved it both times we've been. Even Callahan got into it. We got ice cream and headed to the Boat Show, it was amazing and I'm so glad we went, we loved it. Callahan slept on and off in the stroller throughout the day and was just the sweetest little sweatiest thing ever. We bought stuffed animals and necklaces and were on our way. It rained a bit that night but we were in the river in no time. Tuesday morning Ryon got up early and played golf so the boys and I went to buffett breakfast, which is oh so fun as a single parent! It's like a marathon getting everyone's plates and settled while holding Callahan, way too many trips back and forth! But we survived with a smile on our faces. We hit up the driving range for a bit before going to the pool. It was so humid for the West Texans. Tuesday Night we went to get smores for one last night since we were leaving the next morning and Sutton got burned by the kid next to him. The kids marshmellow caught on fire and he shook it and flung it back and it stuck to Sutton's arm! Ryon was thankfully right there and was able to slap it off. It was a bad burn though and he screamed like crazy. It still has a scar. So that was a great way to end the trip, haha! Overall, we had a great relaxing, no scheduled vacation. We loved the resort and our time at Sea World. I'm so glad we made the time to go this summer.
