January and February

So I've thought to myself several times in the last month that I need to make time to sit and write about life the last few months, but I have put it off because I didn't feel like the words would flow well...but now I'm so far behind! So here goes, I'm not sure my words will flow but at least they'll be written!
Ryon and I took an amazing vacation to Las Vegas in January. It was our first trip in awhile just the two of us so it was so wonderful to spend some time doing things just for us. We stayed at the Wynn which was so amazing. It was beautiful, we had a fabulous view, the rooms were awesome and bathroom huge and had a big bathtub! We spoiled ourselves with dinner at the Buffett where Ryon ate way too many king crab legs. We shopped at the outlet mall where Ryon bought me a few things from Dooney & Bourke, we walked the strip and had lunch at Margaritaville which is always so good and fun. We saw the Today Show with Hoda and Jenna Bush doing a live broadcast, we gambled, we drank. We walked to the new area called the Links and it was amazing. We had a great lunch and stopped at Sprinkles and shared a cupcake on the sidewalk, it was a really neat new area that we will definitely be going back to. We had a great dinner at the Wynn with the best steak ever and saw Le Reve. It was the first show we've ever seen in Vegas and it was great. The theatre was beautiful and show very impressive. I'm glad we made the time to do this together. Overall, our trip was great. It was fun to reconnect, and be on our own schedule and not be worrying about three little guys. It was only two nights but oh so worth it! The boys all stayed at TK and Rick's and they enjoyed their time together as well.
The next weekend we took a trip with the Bennett's to Ruidoso! It was so fun. Callahan was still getting over being sick so we ended up taking him with us because we just didn't feel good about leaving him with Teri again when he wasn't sleeping and didn't feel like himself. I'm so glad we took him because it just wouldn't have felt right without him. We stayed at a cabin that the Bennett's can use from some family and it was just perfect. We got there and the road hadn't been snowplowed so we had quite the time getting to the house and with help from some very nice neighbors we got to where we needed to be. Of course Callahan was screaming during all of this as well. It was dark, we were on snow covered roads in the mountains, Josh's 4 wheel drive wasn't working right and we had a screaming baby; needless to say we were making memories, haha. We had a fun dinner at Farley's that night and went to bed early because the group was skiing the next morning. I stayed at the cabin with Callahan while the rest went up the mountain to ski. With Callahan having an ear infection we didn't want to take him to the top. I really enjoyed my day in a quiet cabin, with Callahan napping most of the morning doing my bible study and watching shows I wanted to watch! It was a pretty great day, I'm not going to lie. The boys had ski lesson for the first time  and did great. They rode the gondola and then skied with Ryon, Melanie and Josh all afternoon on the buddy slopes. They really enjoyed themselves and the video's are so great. None of the boys wanted to leave. When they arrived back they were worn out, but when the four boys are together there's not a whole lot of resting that happens so we were immediately outside the cabin exploring and playing in the snow. We ate at the Mexican Food place that night that's so good there and we enjoyed ourselves. We are quite the crew when we walk into places with 5 boys 5 and under, haha. But they were really good and we didn't have any major issues while eating out the entire weekend! Saturday we went to Winter Park and did the snow slides. It was kind of tiring with the tubes and waiting in lines but it was fun. I rode a few with Sutton and he is just so brave. I was kinda nervous my first one and he just gets up there and jumps off just as brave as can be! He looked so little to me to be in a big tube by himself going down a huge mountain! He was the cutest little snow bunny. We had a long late lunch and then went bowling. This might have been the highlight of our trip! Let's just say the adults were drinking beer, the boys were having a blast and all the boys were having dance parties. We all looked ridiculous because we went directly after skiing. We were in tall socks, leggings we wouldn't normally wear in public, bowling shoes, were tired, we had a baby! We laid Callahan down on the floor to play, oh we made lots of memories for sure!! We always have a great time when we travel with the Bennett's and it was fun first Ruidoso Trip with the boys. We all want to go back! Can't wait to go next year.
Over Valentine's Weekend we went to the ranch as a family. The weather was great and we had such fun together. We took the boat and got it running and I think we are really going to enjoy it. Ryon did a lot of work on the skid steer, the boys created "The Hider" for themselves. A little fort area just for them. We spent some time making a sign, making little seats in the dirt and moving sticks around so they have enough room. It is a fun little oasis. I love their imaginations and their desire to be out playing in the dirt and creating a fun space just for them. We enjoyed ourselves so much that we ended up staying until Monday.
Ryon built us a dining table with two benches for the ranch house. It is so beautiful. He did a great job and it was fun to see him creating it and figuring it out. The boys learned a lot in the process and we all spent lots of time in the garage helping daddy.
Ryon turned 35 in February! We made him a cake and ordered pizza, the boys were so excited about having him a spiderman birthday party. His present from me was getting his Dallas friends together and they all met him at the ranch for the weekend. He looked forward to it since I had told him and I'm so thankful everyone was actually able to go! Getting 5 guys schedules to align is hard! He took the table, they cooked a lot, apparently their were lots of ammo used and Ryon came home with a busted toe from a 40 yard dash race.....boys will be boys. He says he won though!
The last few months have been full of Birthday parties, baby showers, school stuff....it's been busy but also really fun since the weather is great. We've gotten to spend time in the backyard again digging, swinging, jumping, playing sports....it's been wonderful!
