3rd Best Day of My Life

What are your favorite days in your entire life? I'm sure we all have them engraved in the very front of our brains, remembering every detail.

#1: May 2007: The day I met Ryon. I don't use our wedding day, because even though it was an amazing day, the day I met Ryon was the day my life changed forever and would never be the same. I met the man of my dreams, and he loved me back!

#2: November 18, 2010, Mason Joseph Vestal was born. The events of the day were not my favorite with an emergency C Section, the lack of medicine and 14+ hours of labor, but the second I looked into those eyes, my heart was stolen yet again.

#3: May 8, 2011: Mason was baptized and given to the Lord to protect and keep him all the days in his life. I've always loved baptisms at church and yearned for the day I would stand before God and the Church to give my own son the experience. Yesterday I was a proud mother and christian wife.

What a wonderful weekend we had. Saturday my mom, dad, and Popo came into town. We spent the afternoon around the house and walked down the street to see our new house. Then Saturday night Meredith hosted everyone over for a Birthday party for Justin. It was so relaxing being around family, sitting on their beautiful back porch with a West Texas sunset behind us! Then Sunday was Mason's big day, and Mother's Day! Mason usually naps around 11 in the morning, so this was a problem when it came to church time. He was not a very happy camper. If you know Mason at all, he is all smiles, happy, and content with anyone, anywhere. Not this morning though. He was tired. We had worn him out! So when it came baptism time he did pretty well at the beginning but then he started crying. There wasn't much we could do about it either. That's what babies do. When we got to the front of the church, and Ryon turned to show Mason, there was a huge sigh and laugh because everyone loved his little tie. He looked cuter than I had ever seen him! Once Pastor Schorr got a hold of him he stopped crying and did really well. We had so much family and many friends that witnessed the occasion and I hope that Mason will always know he can go to any of these people for advice and his walk in Christ. After Church we had a wonderful lunch at Green Tree Country Club. It could not have been a better weekend. We were truly blessed for everyone and everything that happened this weekend! So I don't forget in the years to come, I must list everyone that came to his baptism. Family: Mom, Dad, Rick, Teri, Meredith, Justin, Dona, Kriston. Great Grandparents to Mason: Popo, Brown Grandmother, Papa, Granny and Grandaddy. Friends: Bill and Sandy Scott, Leslie Tommerup, Courtney and Justin Lyon, Leslie and Jeff Pair, JT Pitts. We had three full pews in our beautiful church and Ryon and I are SO thankful to the people that came to celebrate. You learn a lot about family and friends during these times in life. Another gift Mason gave me for Mother's Day: CRAWLING! Yes, he has been really trying for awhile now, but last night he got those elbows going and knew exactly what to do and how to get there. I will be posting the video. I'm so proud of him!
