Today I feel like a mom

Today I feel like a mom. Last night when I woke to feed Mason at 2 am, I noticed he had "gunk" coming out of one eye, an obvious infection of somesort. I woke Ryon to show him so he wouldn't think I was over reacting the next morning. I washed Mason's face good, fed and put him to bed. I went straight to my books and started reading. I then assured myself I had to take him to the Dr. this morning. Dr. Nabolsi takes walk ins every morning so there I lay from three to seven, just waiting to pick Mason up and take him to make him well. I had to wake him up, feed him and then get him to the Dr. I sat there in the waiting room just looking at him and felt so sad for him, eventhough Mason seemed to not even notice. Dr. Nabolsi said that he had a sort of pink eye. It is caused by his eye lashes growing inward instead of outward right now. He said it's pretty common and we'd probably see more infections like these in the next few months bc of his lashes. So it wasn't anything I did or could do, thankfully! I got pink eye all the time as a kid, so I hope this comes and goes, because the pink eye goo you have to put on your eye is gross! So today I feel like a mom, helpless when it comes to caring for my child, wishing I could make everything better. Mason weighed 10 pounds today, with his clothes on. He is growing like crazy. We are using up the last of our newborn diapers and are starting to grow out of some of our clothes! I'm so proud of my little man. He slept last night for 5 hours, and then I woke him in the morning, but he had already gone over 5 hours... we are making progress :)
