Bahamas, Vegas and The Inbetween

What a month! Our low key summer started busy! We survived Vestal Fest and then a few days later we left for the Bahamas with Ryon's family to stay at the Atlantis. What a wonderful trip it was! We left early Thursday morning for the boys' first flights. They did wonderful. They slept a little, they played a little and they played our iPad a lot. I don't ever let them on our phone or iPad so this was a treat to Mason and it was a huge help with a long flight. Our first night there we found a pizza place and all ate on the marina with gorgeous boats around us. It was wonderful to be somewhere new and exciting. Sutton got sick that night running a pretty good fever all night so I had to take him to the hotel Doctor the next day. We got some meds and he was in great spirits by later that night. Our first day at the resort we went to the kiddie pool where the bucket of water dumped on TK's head, pretty funny, but not for her :) Mason was a complete fish all day and I've never seen his fingers so wrinkly from swimming. The boys played golf that morning and then joined us at the pool. That night we took the boys down to the marina and tried to get some dinner together. The key word there is TRY. As we had just ordered our food we realized how miserable dinner was going to be. The boys were wild, they were throwing forks, they were loud, they were tired, just plain annoying. Ryon and I decided that we would actually like to enjoy our food so we asked our waiter to box it up and to the room we went! We actually did get to enjoy our food with the boys comfy in bed, watching a show and ready for bed. The next morning we enjoyed walking around the resort and visiting all of the different aquariums. The fish are simply amazing and definitely the highlight of this resort in my opinion. Sutton fell in love with stingrays. He's my animal lover for sure so he was a happy boy with all the marine life everywhere. We then posted up at the pool again and enjoyed our day swimming, eating and just simply relaxing. That night we went out to eat at Carmine's with Ryon's parents and Meredith and Justin. We enjoyed family style italian food and a walk around the marina afterwards. Teri and Rick kept the boys that night so Ryon and I could stay out later in the resort. We enjoyed some drinks at the bar and Ryon gambled a bit. Sunday was another full day at the pool. Mason got to go on the lazy river with the big boys which he admitted he was a bit scared and had to get off at one point because he wasn't old enough. It wasn't very "lazy" I was told. We all four fell asleep in the same bed when we got back from swimming that night. Once we woke up at 7:00 we needed food! We again settled on bringing food back to the room :) Our last morning there Ryon and Mason got to do the Dolphin Adventure. They got to pet them and take a bunch of pictures with him. Mason liked it but there was a lot of waiting time so that wasn't his favorite obviously. It was a great time. I think I'd go back once the boys are older. They would like the slides once they are older and be able to enjoy some of the restaurants.

Vegas! Ryon got invited to play in an all expense paid golf tournament in Vegas this past weekend. We only had to cover our flights. Rick and Teri were eager to take the boys to the lake with them so we booked our trip and away we went! We stayed at the Red Rock Resort outside of the strip. Ryon got to play three rounds of golf at the TPC Golf Course and was in heaven. While he played I got to sleep in, eat breakfast by myself, lay by the pool and relax a bit. The first day I met some new friends from California. Super sweet girls that were there with their guys that ran the sound for the Jeff Bridges show. It was a fun way to pass the time at the pool by myself and I made a few new friends :) Friday night Daniel got in to play in the tournament as well. I enjoyed the pool all Saturday morning by myself and Kristi showed up about the same time as the boys that afternoon. We enjoyed lunch and some pool time before heading to the strip. Since they hadn't really been to Vegas in a long time they wanted to go down there so Ryon got us dinner reservations at Olives over looking the fountains at the Bellagio. The water show was amazing and I was happy I got to see it. We headed back to the hotel and were all worn out so to bed we went. Ryon played one more round of golf Sunday morning and I enjoyed a great lunch outside with Kristi. It was wonderful to be around a good old friend again.

The Inbetween: Enjoying my boys. Enjoying the easy, no schedule play time with them. This morning we headed to the park together. Although my views at the Bahamas and Vegas were amazing, I enjoy running around with my boys listening to them squeal as I tickled them. Sutton also got brave enough to crawl to the very top of all of the ladders. We enjoyed lunch on the patio and then the boys had a chalk fight coloring each others backs, bellies and feet with blue chalk. It was a fun morning. It has been a sweaty summer for sure! I also started my bible study last week at Stonegate and I'm loving what God is already revealing to me thru the women in my group. At St. Luke's we started the summer lunch program as well. Last Thursday I got to run around and play football, basketball, do crafts and eat lunch with about 20 neighborhood kids. I have missed this type of service and I really enjoyed loving on kids that God put in my path. Two of them even walked over by themselves from their apartment complex this past Sunday and attended church for the first time. God is amazing :)
