Sutton's 1 Month, Mason's 19 Months

Sutton is One month old already! Time is flying by. We had his appointment this morning and he is 8.9 pounds and a little over 21 1/4 inches long. The biggest thing is his eating right now. We are having acid reflux issues. It's really hard to watch. As he drinks, he screams and it hurts him so bad. Then today when I holding him, he threw up all over me. So we are starting some medication. This morning during bath time was his first really big smile. I got it on camera and it was so cute. In the last week he has started to wake up from being asleep every moment. His eyes are big and wide and ready to see the world. He's eating every four hours about 5 ounces. Still a lot less than Mason but I think it's because of his reflux.

Mason is 19 months old now! He is going to be 2 before I blink my eyes. He's getting much more used to Sutton being around, but still really needs that attention when Sutton is being fed. He is starting repeat a lot more words when we ask him too. Yesterday when he was in time out, I was telling him he was being bad and he kept repeating the word BAD to me. It was funny. The first words out of his mouth in the morning and nap are baby. He loves Sutton. He is eating better this week. Every meal is different though. he still wakes up randomly at night for whatever reason. He just wants to be outside and he plays so well out. We spend most of our mornings and afternoons outside. His big thing right now is throwing his hands up saying "i don't know" even when he really does know the answer. He loves the golf cart. He constantly walks around doing his hands like a steering wheel. He is so loud. He always has been, but the last few days, he has just been squealing and laughing and screaming so loud when he's happy. (or mad really).

For Father's Day we went to Boerne. It was really fun. Guys played golf, and we took the kids to the parade. It was Mason's first parade and he loved it. He stayed pretty close with the group and really enjoyed watching everything drive by. When he didn't like something though, he would shake his head no. He LOVED the Cheerleaders. He was sitting in my mom's lap and when they came to us, he stood up, got the goofiest grin on his face and waved and waved at them. Such a flirt already. He had a blast running into the street, grabbing candy and coming back to us. It was my first outing in my double stroller. It is quite the limo! I really like it but still feel a bit ridiculous with it. I feel like Mason is a mile away up there. But for the purposes that I need it for, I like it and really need it. We went to the pool that afternoon to the club, Sutton slept thru his first pool party of course despite the cute shirt I had gotten for him :) Mason had a blast eating popsicles and playing with Ryon. Elizabeth and him had such a great time playing. They were constantly screaming and chasing each other around the house. He slept on a mat on the floor for the first time and did great. It was our first trip to all sleep in the same room. With Sutton waking up so often we were nervous but Mason slept right thru it. I was able to grab Sutton and start feeding before he really started screaming, but Mason fell right to sleep and stayed there til  early morning. Our mornings were a bit early but at least he kept quiet all night.

We got our kitchen painted this past two weeks as well. It looks awesome. I got a chaulk board door for my pantry and really like it. I'm going to enjoy putting notes and bible versus on it for us. We are hanging in there. I call this survival mode. It's all I can do to survive each day and night without a breakdown. The days are long, and I don't get a break at night so I'm tired of course. I'm getting used to it. I'm thankful for the times I spend with just one of the boys at a time. I cherish our alone time so much more than  before. Mason stayed with TK last night and she took him to school so Sutton and I had a quiet morning here. One baby is such a breeze! I took a shower and actually dried my hair. (only the second time I've done this since he's been born!) But the boys are happy and healthy and Ryon and I are surviving :) And even in survival mode, I wouldn't change anything for the world.
