Sign Language

I have been doing sign language with Mason since like four months old and it's finally paying off! I'm so proud of him... and me :) A few days ago I noticed that he kind of did the sign for eat around me but it was just one time so I figured it was a fluke. BUT today we were eating and Ryon gave him some pickle and once he was done he started to doing the sign for more! I was so thrilled, yes tears did come into my eyes. It was like me watching him grow up so suddenly. Today he's been doing eat and more a lot. And those really were the only ones I ever do/did consistently. I used to do milk all the time before he switched to the cup. I kind of stopped because he associated the milk sign with the "bottle" more than the actual milk. It's so nice to see his brain coming together and putting all those things into action. He's learning and growing so fast these days. I'm amazed every day with the progress he makes around here. Now if we could just get him to stop "cleaning his plate" by flinging food five times a day....
On another note, I haven't written about the toddler bed switch. We changed his bed to the toddler version last week and he's done pretty well. We emptied his room of all of his toys except a few books we read at night. He doesn't get out of his bed at night but we struggle with nap time. Last week he fell asleep many times on the floor for naps. We just have both doors closed and he always gets out and plays but when he's tired he falls asleep. Yesterday he wasn't very tired when we tried to put him down, twice, and he never did fall asleep. No nap all day. Ugh. He wakes up earlier now which I don't like...our usual 9 am :)....but I've been really pleased at how well he's doing.
