Mama let's eat!

This past Saturday we gave Mason some rice cereal for the first time out of a spoon. It was a complete mess of course! For the past week or so, he's been really knowing what's in his bottle and even tried to reach for my food at lunch the other day numerous times. This is a sign he's ready for more! So Ryon and I mixed some cereal and away we went. He didn't seem to know what to do with it at all though. He would get it in his mouth, make his disgusted face and just let it sit there in his mouth. I fed him more this morning and he seemed to do a bit better, so we'll see. I'm going to try some different cereal I have too, and see if it makes a difference. He turns four months this Friday, so we are a bit early, but not by much. He also started making a new noise this weekend. It's like a really loud squeal. But it's a happy noise! While in his exerciser yesterday he started to move himself around, he's getting stronger by the day.
We also went to church for the first time since he was born yesterday, besides when he slept thru Christmas Eve Service. We got up, got all dressed up, and dropped him at the nursery. It was a little nerve racking! The only people we have left him with are Rick and Teri, and he spends so much time with them he doesn't even realize we are gone, so I was anxious to see how he did in the nursery. He was in there with our Pastor's new son who is a month older, so I knew he was in good hands. When we went to pick him up, there were a lot more kids in there, and we were looking around and I didn't see his little red shirt anywhere...then one of the caregivers pointed at the crib and said he was fast asleep. And fast asleep he was! It was even hard to wake him up. So he was happy. And I was relieved. I'm also very happy about getting to go to church again! I haven't wanted to put him in the nursery with all the sick kids, so now that it's spring break and everyone should be getting better, our lives can be a bit normal again :)

Eating cereal along with the bottle. Messy boy!
