Summer Vacation 2017
This summer has flown by! I feel like I missed most of it while being in recovery from surgery and now school starts in a week!
For our big vacation this year we headed to Dallas. We always love to take a Dallas trip soon after our babies are born so this year was no different. We started our adventure in Escondido with the Bennett's. Summer isn't complete without a trip there and this year we had a sweet baby to bring along. We had fun golfing, fishing, and swimming. We left Monday and stopped in Marble Falls at Chilis and had a great calm lunch. We were worn out and needed some good food! The view is beautiful of the lake and we really enjoyed our stop. We then headed north and stopped at a Buccee's, such a crazy gas station! Geez it's like a mall. We made a stop at the Under Armour Outlet store in Hillsboro and stocked up on some clothes for the boys for school. We booked a room at the Omni Dallas along the way and checked in late afternoon. There was a Mary Kay convention going on in the hotel so there were women everywhere! When we walked around with the big boys and the two littles in the double stroller we sure did catch people's attention! Everyone was so nice. We loved the Omni. We had a great dinner out on the patio while the boys played corn hole. It was fun to be downtown and we had a fabulous view at night. We hadn't been down there in a long time because we usually go north where friends live. It was fun. We went to the Perot Museum the next day. It was pretty crowded and the boys weren't that into it honestly. They did love the robotics floor and we watched a 3D movie. Those were the hits of the day for sure. We ate at Pei Wei and the boys thought they were in heaven. I think it's Mason's new favorite place! That night we swam at the rooftop pool at the hotel overlooking Dallas. What an amazing view! Callahan loved Ryon throwing him in and Coryell napped on the lawn chair and made people smile as they walked by. Wednesday we woke up and had to check out so we could go over to the Anatole for the rest of the week. Coryell had a pretty bad cough so we drove to a Pedi in Coppell and had her checked out. She was just really congested but I was thankful to have her seen. That night we went to the Walsh's and had a bbq. It was great to get to visit and the kids were actually pretty good considering they were playing inside most of the time and they were all tired. Our Hilton Anatole hotel room was huge. Two big rooms, three beds, 2 bathrooms....it was legit. We were happy to have our space! We spent the next three days at the pool. Ryon golfed with Daniel one morning at Steven's Park. The boys loved the lazy river and watching Callahan with his life jacket just going around and around was fun. They did the slides and played games to earn tokens to redeem for prizes. Coryell slept on the lawn chair the entire trip and we all got to relax. We ordered pizza Friday night and watched Moana on the lawn of the hotel. Saturday our Dallas crew came to join us. It was a fun filled day of too much Coors Light and crazy kids. It always goes by way too fast when we are together. We were all over served that day but enjoyed being together!
I didn't want to come home. I loved being away and not having laundry, cooking and responsibility. But Ryon said we had to. Apparently we spent a lot of money and he needed to get back to work! Haha. He spoils us big time with vacation and I'm so thankful we were able to spend the week together.
