Yep, October came and went, with a whole lot of fun in-between!
We are wrapping up soccer this weekend, and it has been a really fun season of watching Mason grow and love another sport. We has become aggressive, he's super fast, and most of all he has confidence and is just loving being out there. We have been incredibly proud of him to see him excel.
The beginning of October we headed to the ranch for the first time in a long time. We went after Mason's game on Saturday and had to come home late Sunday but it was a great trip. We rode around in the ranger, sat by the fire for a long time Saturday night looking at stars and finding satellites. The boys love everything about space right now so it's fun to be able to have those conversations with them. We checked the feeders and cameras and have noticed some big bucks coming around! The boys fished on the dock for awhile, I got to take some pictures, and overall it was just a good weekend to be out there.
Sutton had a field trip to the Fire Station which he loved. It was fun for him to load up in the church bus and go there with his friends. The Fire trucks also visited Mason at his school so we have been practicing our stop, drop and roll quite a bit lately, haha!
We had a fun Midland weekend full of Fall festivals this month too. Friday night we attended Mason's school Fall Festival which was a lot of fun. They had jumpers, games and food set up on the football field. It was great to meet some people, see his school friends and see a lot of people that we didn't know had kids at MCS. We love his school so far. We also took Family pictures, and they turned out great!! And that afternoon we attended our church fall festival. It was so nice to see everyone again; we haven't been around since Callahan has been born.
Susan got married last weekend! I can't even believe baby sister is married. It was a rainy weekend in Boerne but about ceremony time the skies literally opened up right above us so we could have the ceremony outside. It was beautiful and it was a really fun weekend. We were worn out from being so busy but it was great to see so much family. The Kentucky family was there too and I loved seeing them and having the boys see them, it had been over 3 years. The boys wore bow ties and suspenders to the wedding and it was so cute. The kids were on good behavior all weekend and played great with their cousins and Ryon was super dad because he had them most of the time since I was busy. No trip is complete without a few mishaps like diaper rash's, stomach aches, Sutton peeing the bed, and Ryon mixing up the boys pants and having to redress them right before walking out the door for the wedding (suspenders and everything!)
This week we've had a lot of fun too. It was beautiful weather so we spent every day after school at the park. Wednesday Mason had his first field trip. They rode the big MCS bus to St Luke's pumpkin patch. We had already been the week before but he had fun being with his friends. I was able to meet a few of the other moms and Sutton felt like such a big kid sitting with Mason and being with them. That day after school we went to a park so I could take some pictures of Mason for his birthday invitation. 5 years old!!!??? I don't even know how to process it right now. He's such a monkey so I had him do all his normal tricks on the monkey bars and play equipment. They turned out really cute.
He's also accomplished climbing on top of a plastic house we have here at the house, then on top of the fence, then on top of the basketball goal….. oh lord please send extra angels to this one!!!
Yesterday Sutton had his Halloween costume parade at school. It was adorable seeing all the kids dressed up. Callahan and I worked the pumpkin patch, then picked up Mason so we could all go to Sutton's halloween party. So glad I can still get Mason whenever I want! After his party we went to Mimi's office to trick or treat. She always loves to see the boys dressed up. She is too good to us.
Whew I'm tired!! Haha.
Callahan is doing great. THREE MONTHS OLD TODAY!?? Such a sweet nature, only cries when he's really hungry or tired. He has been super hungry lately with not much time in-between his feedings, which is a little exhausting during the day bc I don't feel like I can do much. He is talking all the time to us. I can't wait to see this little one grow. He just already has a lot to say. He is eating 8 ounce bottles, which is a lot. It's been a lot for his system to digest so his diapers have been awful and he still spits up kinda. A few more weeks and I'll give him some cereal and get him started on some more substantial food that will hopefully help fill him up. I think all the liquid is just too much for him. He is such a trooper. Third child for sure. He makes everyone smile, sleeps when he needs to and goes with the flow pretty well. And he survives Sutton being in his face 24-7. Goodness we love him!
